A man robbed $1 from a bank to get himself arrested

Richard James Verone, 59, robbed a bank for just $1 and then waited there for deputies to arrest himself. The story started when he entered into a bank in Gastonia, N.C. and then handed the female teller a note. The note said this is a bank robbery. please only give me one dollar. The note also stated that he had a gun. Then he did the strangest thing of all.

"I started to walk away from the teller then I went back and said, 'I'll be sitting right over there in the chair waiting for the police," he said.

The police officers arrived there and arrested him. After arresting him the police realized that he was unarmed and the sum wanted in his note was only one dollar. Then Richard elaborated the things, he said -
I wanted to make it known that this wasn't for monetary reasons, but for medical reasons. It it is called manipulation, then yes, I am manipulating the courts to get medical care.

Verone has a growth in his chest, two ruptured disks and no job, and the worst thing - he has no medical insurance. He wanted at least a three-year sentence, which would give him a place to live and free health care until he was old enough to collect a Social Security check.

But he was unlucky, he was charged with just larceny, and he might not get as much time in the prison as he was hoping for.

Verone says he has no regrets. He admits his story is unusual and says he wouldn't recommend anyone else do what he did.

Well, it is not a good way to get medical care, but he was obliged, according to him he had no other option. but this. What's you view, please let us know in your comments.
